Ark Ceramics at Baby Pigs Crossing is located
approximately 65 miles from the Kahului Airport. It takes slightly over 2 1/2
hours by car - - or - - you can make it an all day adventure. You'll find
incredible waterfalls, hiking trails, swimming spots and views along the
way.
The Hana Highway is a 51 mile scenic wonder
that perches precariously along the lush, nearly vertical eastern slope of
Maui's Haleakala volcano. It winds around 617 curves, over 56 quaint one-laned
bridges spanning rushing streams and waterfalls. It runs through forests of
green bamboo, yellow guava, blue eucalyptus and gray banyan, dashed throughout
with neon-orange African tulip trees, red-pink, yellow, and white ginger. This
magnificent drive is interspersed with broad vistas of Pacific Ocean and the
pervasive scent of guava.
- Ark Ceramics at Baby Pigs Crossing is approximately
8 miles beyond Hana town on Hana Highway #31 midway between mile markers #46
and #45 west toward Kipahulu.
- Look for the "CAUTION: BABY PIGS CROSSING"
sign nailed to mango trees on either side of the highway.
- When arriving from Hana: Take the
driveway on the right, uphill to the top, crossing over the cattle
guard.
- When arriving from Kipahulu/Kaupo: Take
the driveway on the left, uphill.
- PLEASE PARK ON THE ASPHALT, not the
grass.
